Brad Smith

Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Microsoft

Brad Smith is Microsoft's general counsel and senior vice president, Legal and Corporate Affairs. He leads the company's Department of Legal and Corporate Affairs (LCA), which has just over 1,000 employees and is responsible for the company's legal work, its intellectual property portfolio, and its government affairs and philanthropic work. He also serves as Microsoft's corporate secretary and its chief compliance officer. Since becoming general counsel in 2002, Smith has overseen numerous negotiations leading to competition law and intellectual property agreements with governments and with companies across the IT sector. He has helped spearhead the growth in the company's intellectual property portfolio and the launch of global campaigns to bring enforcement actions against those engaged in software piracy and counterfeiting, malware, consumer fraud, and other digital crimes. As software has migrated online and into a computing "cloud," one of LCA's current principal goals is to help establish the legal foundation for this next generation of technology. Read More

Dr. Elson Floyd

President, Washington State University

Before taking the helm at WSU on May 21, 2007, Dr. Elson Floyd was president of the four-campus University of Missouri for four years and before that president of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo for more than four years. He also held administrative posts at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and at Eastern Washington University, and was executive director of the Washington State Higher Education Coordinating Board. Dr. Elaine Beraza

Superintendent, Yakima School District

Dr. Elaine Beraza was born in the beautiful Appalachian mountains of Western North Carolina. Her family represented two cultures – her mother being a Carolina Tar heel and her father a recent Hispanic immigrant. Dr. Beraza graduated from high school and college in Puerto Rico. She earned her master's degree in elementary education from the College of Charleston and administrative certification credits from the Citadel. Read More

Mike Delaney

Vice President of Engineering - Commercial Airplanes, The Boeing Company

Michael P. Delaney was named vice president of Engineering for Boeing Commercial Airplanes in January 2010. He is responsible for product development, engineering design, delegated compliance, certification and safety activities for all commercial airplane models, their derivatives and post-delivery upgrades. In this role, Delaney also retains his previous duties as vice president of Airplane Performance and Product Architecture. Read More

Barbara Hulit joined Danaher in 2005 as President of the Fluke Corporation. She was appointed a Group Executive and Danaher Corporate Officer in July 2008. Prior to joining Fluke, Hulit was Vice President and Director at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Chicago, where she worked since 1992 in strategy and business development. Prior to joining BCG, Hulit also served in sales and marketing roles with Noxell Corporation, PepsiCo and Marketing Corporation of America. Read More

Chairman, Lease Crutcher Lewis

Bill Lewis is Chairman of Lease Crutcher Lewis, a construction firm with offices in Seattle and Portland, and very deep roots in the community. Lewis currently serves on the board of Todd Pacific Shipyards, Washington STEM, Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies Advisory Board, the Washington Roundtable and the UW School of Medicine Scholarship and Student Support Committee. In addition, he is past board chairman of The Seattle Foundation, Downtown Seattle Association and the Woodland Park Zoological Society, as well as past corporate chair of Seattle's American Heart Walk. Gary Livingston

Former Chancellor, Spokane Community Colleges

Dr. Gary A. Livingston recently retired as chancellor of Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS). Since 2002 he led a team of 2,000 faculty, staff, and administrators who provided education programs and services through Spokane Community College, Spokane Falls Community College, and the Institute for Extended Learning. Each year, CCS serves more than 37,000 credit and non-credit students throughout its district, which covers more than 12,000 square miles in northeastern Washington. Read More
